Children’s Chorus of Washington Shines at ACDA National Conference in Dallas

The Children’s Chorus of Washington (CCW) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of having 11 talented choristers selected for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Honors Choirs at this year’s National Conference in Dallas, Texas. This prestigious opportunity brought together exceptional young singers from across the country, and CCW’s strong presence showcased the high level of artistry and dedication nurtured within the organization.

Being selected for an ACDA Honors Choir is a significant accomplishment, requiring a rigorous audition process and a commitment to musical excellence. These 11 choristers represented CCW with professionalism and passion, performing alongside peers under the direction of nationally recognized conductors in a truly unforgettable experience.

CCW’s excellence was further highlighted by the attendance of four of its esteemed artistic leaders. Artistic Director Margaret Nomura Clark, Treble Director and Program Manager Christen Hernandez, Beginning Bel Canto Director Cécile Audette, and Prep Director and Theory Instructor Anne Tyler all traveled to Dallas to attend the conference. Their participation underscores CCW’s commitment to professional development, connection to the national choral community, and continued excellence in music education.

The ACDA National Conference is a hub for innovation, inspiration, and collaboration in the choral world. From masterclasses and performances to networking and new repertoire, the experience enriches both singers and educators alike. For CCW choristers and faculty, it was a chance to grow, connect, and be inspired by the broader choral landscape.
