CCW welcomes boys and girls ages 8-18 to audition for its nationally recognized performance-based ensembles.

For younger singers, we invite you to participate in our PREP classes.

 

Treble Chorus (DC & VA Rehearsal sites)

The beginning level choral ensemble for children ages 8-11. Singers at this level have demonstrated an ability to match pitch and maintain their part in singing a two-part round. In this ensemble, young singers improve their unison singing skills and begin to sing two-part and three-part songs. Note reading, basic score reading, and basic vocal technique will also be developed. The choristers perform at a few concerts during the year. The curriculum and repertoire for DC and VA sites are identical. Singers who rehearse in VA are expected to join the main DC rehearsal site for select rehearsals and performances.

Bel Canto Chorus

From the Italian for “beautiful singing” or “beautiful voices,” Bel Canto Chorus is CCW’s intermediate ensemble to meet the music education needs of students ages 11-14 who have had some singing experience and are ready to continue their musical development by experiencing more challenging repertoire, more advanced sight-singing and music reading materials with additional performance opportunities. This ensemble performs at concerts during the year.

Tuition: Bel Canto Chorus is $1,375 for entire season

Rehearsal Site: 3401 Nebraska Ave. NW, Washington, DC
(Mondays 6:15-8:00 p.m. and Thursdays 5:00-6:30 p.m.)

This ensemble also tours domestically.

Concert Chorus

This advanced level choral ensemble is made up of singers who have established good vocal technique, are excellent sight-readers, and can sing independently in parts. Basic music theory, history and appreciation will be developed at this level. this ensemble performs at least four to six concerts a year. This ensemble performs frequently with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and in other venues and with the many adult choral organizations in the area and participates in national and international tours every two to three years.

Tuition: Concert Chorus is $1,425 for entire season

Chamber Ensemble

This elite invitation-only subset of the Concert Chorus has additional rehearsals and performance opportunities and learns more challenging repertoire. They also often combine to sing mixed repertoire with the Young Men's Ensemble. 

This ensemble also tours internationally.

Tuition: Chamber Ensemble is $175 for entire season

Young Men's Ensemble

Our ensemble for young men with changed voices. The music repertoire for this ensemble is designed for changed voices, and will empower the singers in their new vocal range.

This ensemble also tours internationally.
