Yukiko Wilson

A Native of Osaka, Japan, Yuki began her musical life early with the study of piano from the age of two. She brought her talents to the United States in 1987, where she received her Bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. She went on to earn the degree of Master of Music in Accompanying/Vocal Coaching from the University of Minnesota where she studied with Grammy Award winner Margo Garrett.


Yuki has performed with numerous singers and instrumentalists in both the United States and Japan, including such notable performers as the New York City Opera’s, Richard MacKee and San Francisco Symphony Bassist, Stephen Tramontozzi. Yuki has also served as accompanist for the San Francisco Ballet, the Oakland Ballet, the San Francisco Boys Chorus, and as a vocal coach at Sonoma State University. Yuki moved to Maryland in 2004 where she currently teaches music at the Harbor School as well as private piano instruction. Since moving to the area, she has performed privately at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador, has appeared as a pianist for the late tenor, Tokihiko Sato and the soprano, Takiko Sato in their recitals in Osaka, Japan. She also has organized and performed in numerous benefit concerts. In recent years, Yuki has performed with a mezzo soprano of the Washington Opera, Louisa Waycott. Yuki also has released a CD of her own compositions, “Waltz in b Minor.”
