Erin Riley

NW TRAINING ENSEMBLE DIRECTOR AND PREP CLASS INSTRUCTOR

Erin Riley is pleased to be joining CCW as director of the NW Training Ensemble and instructor for Prep classes. She has 20 years of experience as a music educator working with a wide range of children throughout the region. During her time as an educator, she has worked with students from infancy to middle school and particularly enjoys teaching primary and early elementary students. Ms. Riley currently teaches Performing Arts at Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School. She has presented about music and creativity at conferences and trainings, including the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools (MAESA) Early Childhood conference. As a child, Ms. Riley was a founding member of the Virginia Children’s Chorus and still has fond memories of her time in the program. She is excited to have this opportunity to share her love of singing with future choristers!

In addition to her time in the classroom, Ms. Riley has worked as a professional singer in both churches and on stage. Most notably, she performed with the Baltimore Opera Company for five seasons and with the Washington Concert Opera for seven seasons. Ms. Riley holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah University, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Peabody Conservatory and a Graduate Performance Diploma (Voice) from Peabody. Through George Mason University, Ms. Riley has completed certification in Orff Schulwerk as well as 2 levels of Kodaly training.
