CCW Celebrates Our 30th Anniversary Season: DC Voices

The Children’s Chorus of Washington proudly announces its 30th Anniversary Season: DC Voices, celebrating three decades as a cornerstone of the District’s cultural life and a national leader among youth choral ensembles. Since its founding in 1995, CCW has empowered young voices, nurtured artistic excellence, and built a thriving, diverse community of singers and supporters.

This milestone season also marks the 10th anniversary of Margaret Nomura Clark’s tenure as Artistic Director, a decade defined by visionary leadership, artistic innovation, and a deep commitment to empowering young singers.

The 2025-26 season will honor CCW’s legacy while showcasing the vibrancy of Washington’s musical heritage through collaborations with some of the region’s most acclaimed artistic partners.

Season Highlights include:

  • Bizet’s Carmen with Wolf Trap Opera – August 15, 2025, Filene Center

    CCW choristers join Wolf Trap Opera under the baton of José Luis Gómez in a fully staged production of Bizet’s Carmen, a landmark professional experience for young singers.

  • The Pale Blue Dot with PostClassical Ensemble – November 19, 2025, Kennedy Center Terrace Theater

    A collaboration with PostClassical Ensemble, guest-curated by marine scientists Enric Sala and Kristin Rechberger. Featuring music by Debussy, Shore, Thomson, Grieg, and Delibes, the program explores humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

  • The Nutcracker with Cincinnati Ballet – November 26-30, 2025, The Kennedy Center

    CCW singers appear as the Snow Chorus in this beloved holiday classic, marking the first collaboration between CCW and Cincinnati Ballet.

  • DCPS All City Chorus – April 24, 2026, THEARC

    In partnership with DCPS Arts, this high-energy concert showcases the talent and diversity of young singers across the District.

  • Flower Mart May 2, 2026, Washington National Cathedral

    CCW’s junior choirs perform at the Cathedral’s annual festival, sharing their artistry in one of DC’s most iconic venues.

  • Voices of Celebration: 30 Years in Song – June 7, 2026

    A culminating concert and community celebration featuring CCW’s full company of singers, alumni chorus, and a guest appearance by founder Joan Gregoryk.
