CCW Takes the East Coast
This summer, the Children’s Chorus of Washington embarked on a remarkable two-week East Coast tour in collaboration with the Boston Children’s Chorus, a journey filled with music, milestones, and unforgettable memories.
Boston
The tour kicked off in Boston, where our choristers were welcomed by the Boston Children’s Chorus. Over several days, CCW singers built friendships, participated in collaborative rehearsals, and worked closely with BCC’s talented staff.
Outside of rehearsal, the choristers explored the rich history and vibrant culture of Boston. They walked the historic Freedom Trail, cruised through the city on a classic Duck Boat Tour, and soaked in the charm of one of America’s most iconic cities.
The Boston leg of the tour culminated in a powerful joint performance by CCW and BCC, showcasing the artistry and collaboration at the heart of this tour.
New York City
Next, CCW journeyed to New York City for the next leg of their adventure. From dining at the famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner to experiencing the thrill of a live Broadway show, the choristers fully immersed themselves in the energy and excitement of NYC.
The highlight of their time in New York was a breathtaking performance at the legendary Carnegie Hall, conducted by Mrs. Clark. Performing in such a prestigious venue was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a true milestone for our young artists.
Washington, DC
The tour came full circle back in Washington, DC, where the CCW community hosted a warm and spirited potluck dinner to welcome BCC singers. The final days of the tour were filled with exploration, laughter, and continued musical growth.
Together, choristers visited some of DC’s most treasured cultural institutions, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the International Spy Museum. They also had the unique opportunity to record at Sirius XM’s studios, a special experience that added a professional edge to their artistic journey.
The tour concluded with a moving final performance that brought together the voices of both CCW and BCC. The concert was more than just a musical showcase, it was a celebration of friendship, artistic excellence, and the unifying power of song.
This tour was a beautiful reminder of the joy, connection, and transformation that happen when young voices unite. We’re so proud of our choristers and grateful to the Boston Children’s Chorus for joining us on this unforgettable journey.
